Open Way · courier whisperDay 214 of the Ninth Seal

Korora is not under maintenance

The gate was cut, not closed. Water is at forty a ton and climbing. Someone is weaving a hole.

Copied by hand from a courier's slate. Pass it on. Do not keep it.

The Korora gate was not closed for maintenance. It was cut, on the night of the 211th, by a Seal Fleet tender that left again within the hour. Nobody has been sent to repair it, because nothing is broken.

What we know, and how old it is:

  • Water at Korora: 40 credits a ton, stock falling. Seen 47 hours before this was written.
  • Food at Korora: no longer sold. The station is rationing. Seen 52 hours ago.
  • Seal Fleet: two cutters on the Barra side of the dead gate, scanning every data bank that comes through. Seen 30 hours ago.

The Bureau's eleven credits was never a price. It is an instruction.

There is a way in. Someone on the Korora side has started weaving a hole: a wormhole toward the Belsan reach, still thin, still hungry. It needs stabilisers to hold and ships to keep it fed, and it will not last long if the Fleet finds it first.

Captains who carry water through it will be paid in more than credits.

Old news is still news. Fly it fast.
