Release v0.3.1
v0.3.1 — Origin ships
Your first ship now depends on your origin: the Clerk, the Mule, the Wanderer or the Jackal, each with its own look and a small edge of its own.

In v0.3.0 every new captain flew the same white Courier. In v0.3.1 your first ship depends on where you come from.
What is in v0.3.1

- Four starting ships. They share the Courier's frame: same cockpit, same interior, same slots, same size class. What differs is the hull and a small edge in flight.
- Clerk (Core-born). A clean navy-and-white hull with brass trim, slim side engines with a blue glow and a tall antenna mast. Sensors +15%, shields +10%.
- Mule (Belter). A yellow-and-black ore hauler in an outer pipe cage, with an ore bin underneath, ram plates on the nose and floodlights. Cargo +20%, shields +15%, acceleration −10%.
- Wanderer (Nomad). A patched khaki, green and rust hull with mismatched side tanks, crates lashed on the roof, a dish and long antennas. Sensors +12%, acceleration +6%, cargo +5%.
- Jackal (Exile). Dark metal and red: a wedge nose, overlapping slanted armour plates, a narrow visor and three red-glowing engines. Turning +15%, acceleration +10%, cargo −15%, shields −8%.
- Your origin ship is your first ship only. When you move up to a Mk2 frame or to another series at the shipyard, you get the standard ship of that frame.
- Existing captains. If you have not created your character yet and still fly a Courier Mk1, it becomes your origin's ship when you do. Upgraded ships are not touched.
You need to update
v0.3.1 changes the network protocol. The v0.3.0 client cannot connect any more; download v0.3.1 from the download page.
Known issues
- The origin ships use the Courier's interior, so inside they all look the same for now.
- The other known issues of v0.3.0 still apply.
What comes next
Walking in the station: a lift from the parking deck up to the hangar floor, then the gallery, the exchange, the tavern and the job office.
